Club Level at Disney World
“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are"- Mason Cooley
Club Level, is it worth it?
Club level is a particular room category mostly at Disney's Deluxe resorts that offer convenience, special benefits, and often pixie dust.
My family has stayed club level at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, which is a moderate resort and happens to be the only moderate resort that offers a club level. Upon arrival at the resort, we were greeted in the lobby and taken directly to the Chronos Club on the 15th floor of the Gran Destino Tower. We were very lucky to be Pixie Dusted on this trip. We were booked in a standard club-level room. When we were told a different room was ready that had a little more space and we could take it if we didn't mind something other than what we booked, we immediately jumped on it. 4 people could always use more space for a week if it's something that is possible to do.
Upon entering our room, I was picking my jaw up off the floor. I couldn't believe they upgraded us to a 1-bedroom suite with 1.5 bathrooms. It was amazing and totally unexpected. Now, understand that this is what Pixie Dust is, something you don't expect and something that is totally random for no reason at all.
We have often closed our eyes walking into rooms after this experience to hope for some Pixie Dust, but not seen it again. -🤣
Most of the Club Levels are all located on one floor of the resort which you need your magic band or key card to get to that floor when in the elevator. Coronado on the other hand can be on any floor in the tower. You do need your magic band or key card to enter the Chronos Club.
Now, back to our arrival. Once we were taken to the Chronos Club, we were immediately offered cocktails which was well needed after coming in from our flight. We got mimosas with POG juice and my kids got Mickeymosas. POG with spite and cute Mickey ears out of orange slices. This was a fan favorite all week.
Your daily schedule of offerings are the same times each day but the food rotates out about every other day to keep it interesting.
-Breakfast: 7-10:30am
-Afternoon Snacks: 11:30 am-4 pm
-Evening hors d'oeuvres and cocktails: 5-7 pm
-Desserts & Cordials: 8-10 pm
The ability to get breakfast at the resort so easily without standing in long lines in quick serve is amazing, you can quickly move on with your day. Everything is self-serve and varies each day. If you are there with a group you can all meet there quietly to plan out your day and meet back at night for an evening nightcap.
Oh, and don't miss the freezer with Mickey Bars galore every day!!
We didn't often get there for the snack portion of the day, but when we did it was a great hold-me-over canceled type of offering. Veggies and hummus, chips, snack bars, Uncrustables, beverages, coffee, nuts and more.
The "Happy Hour" portion of the day we did take advantage of a lot of nights. We often canceled dinner reservations because we were here instead. Without knowing prior to the trip, we made reservations in case there wasn't enough food, but boy was there plenty! And the fridge was always filled with beverages, alcoholic and non! There was always a charcuterie, bread, and pasta. Then the "meal" offerings varied by night. Sometimes there was even a special surprise that only showed up one night.
The Dessert portion was amazing, not only because of the array of sweets and cordials but the views you got when sitting in the lounge were breathtaking.
It gave us the feel of being in an All-Inclusive, which as you know is not available in Walt Disney World. On our first day, when we were ready to head to our "surprise room" that we weren't expecting, I asked where the trash cans were so I could clean up the table. They replied "Ma'am, we don't have any, You can leave it there and we will take care of it for you" WHAT??? I am a mom, and of course, I am wired to clean up after myself and my family. This was so unsettling to me, but yet it made it feel more like a vacation!
There are board games, table games, toys, art supplies, and much more there for the kiddos to keep them occupied. And because this is a private area, it is not too large that you can't see your children from wherever you are sitting.
Someday, we would love to try a club lounge at another resort. It obviously is a more expensive room category, so it is not feasible for everyone, but if you have the means to do it, even just one time for the experience, I highly recommend doing so.
